Priscilla Presleyshared her praise for the biopic during a Q&A event at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas on Friday — while also admitting that she had fears going into it.
“I was very concerned about this movie,” Presley, 78, said. “I think it’s right on, to be honest with you.”
The ex-wife ofElvisthen praised the Academy Award-winning filmmaker herself as she thanked her for her sensitivity in handling the story, which was adapted largely from Presley’s 1985 memoir,Elvis and Me.

She added of Coppola, 52, “She has such a big heart and her father is very famous and she really connected with me. I have no problems with what she did in any way.”
The filmmaker “was so wanting it to be right,” Presley added, which also helped convince her that the story was in safe hands.
During the event, Presley alsoopened up about her decision not to remarryafter her six-year marriage to the “Burning Love” singer ended.
“I just don’t think that he could handle that,” she said, seemingly confirming the longstanding rumor that she made a vow to never marry again as long as Elvis was alive.
She’s kept that promise long after her ex-husband’s death, though. “To be honest with you, I never wanted to marry after him. I never had any desire,” she said. “No one could ever match him.”

Ofwhy she and the King of Rock and Roll didn’t have more kidsaside from daughterLisa Marie Presley— whom they welcomed in 1968 and whodied suddenlyin January — Priscilla said, “Elvis felt he had a very busy schedule and he did have a bit of guilt that he wasn’t around that much when Lisa was younger.”
She added, “With his scheduling and his touring, he just felt he wasn’t around enough to give a lot of attention to having another child.”
Priscilla previously praised Coppola’s filmmaking for the new A24 biopic in aconversationwithPiers Morganlast week, applauding the director for doing her “homework.”
“I mean she and I, we talked about it, and living with Elvis Presley, people think, ‘Oh how wonderful, it’s great, it’s Elvis Presley,' but I went through the ups and downs with him in a very crucial part of his life," Priscilla said.
“His ups and downs, his struggles, his fears, so when you are living with someone so famous, and you have been through it with them, it’s that part of privacy that is hard to give up, it’s hard to share,” she continued. “I don’t want to give out too much because I want some of that myself, that’s just for me.”
