Like so many other Americans , Lin - Manuel Miranda is pained to see the devastation in Puerto Rico follow Hurricane Maria . More than a workweek after the tempest hit , trillion of the island ’s occupant are still without major power — a place that some officials estimate could take six calendar month to amend . So Miranda , whose parent moved from Puerto Rico to New York , is using his voice to make a difference . On October 6 he ’ll release a Greek valerian individual to help conjure up money so that the U.S. territory can commence the physical process of rebuilding .

Still , Miranda knows how the newsworthiness cycle works . He wants to be certain that we keep peach about the state of affairs in Puerto Rico and doing what we can to serve . " I know there ’s a inclination for fatigue because we ’ve just been through two hurricane , ” he aver . “ And we ca n’t be wear when it comes to our fellow Americans . ”
