Hudson isn’t just enjoying fun dinners with her kids — she’s also instilling valuable lessons in them. Last month, the actressspoke to PEOPLEabout her new partnership with health and fitness trackerMyFitnessPal, and broke down the ways she teaches her kids about fitness.
As Hudson explained, a healthy lifestyle is “not taught, it’s caught.” She said Rani “comes to my workouts all the time, and it’s so amazing.”
“I don’t force it on my kids. They want to be a part of it,” she added. “They see me and my trainer [Brian Nguyen] working hard and cussing each other out and sweating.”

Despite being “reallybusy” these days, Hudson said her days wrap at 5 p.m., when she’s “in that kitchen making something” for her crew at home.
“My kids' relationship to food is healthy because I get them in the kitchen,” she noted. “I get them chopping with me, we talk about what herbs are. I think it’s important to really get your kids involved in the things that you’re doing.”
The mother of three added: “There’s no chef in my house.”
