Today , three of its scientists , all representing dissimilar areas of research and expertise are link up us ! They are :
Rob Witoff — The IT data point scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and a Y Combinator startup founder . His background include development atomic number 82 for interplanetary information visualisation software and space station system lead for the experimental OPALS laser communicating orbiter . Witoff is NASA ’s first IT information scientist and his datum science team is brood solutions to Big Data problems for space - bound explorers , earthborn assets and the people that make them potential .

Tomas Soderstrom — As IT CTO at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory , Tom direct a collaborative , hardheaded , hands - on approaching with JPL and industry to investigate and infuse emerging IT applied science trends that are relevant to JPL , NASA , and large enterprisingness . He confer with industriousness and government leadership on cloud computing , prominent data , mobility , consumerization and how to transform IT into Innovating Together .
Andrew Hartis a senior package engineer and full - time member of the Data Management Systems and Technologies group at JPL helping to implement scalable datum system for inquiry projects . He brings his information processing system science background knowledge and creative talents to the design and developing of data management components and web interfaces for a broad regalia of projects across scientific disciplines ranging from radio astronomy , to climate change , to cancer research .
Rob , Tomas , and Andrew will be joining us from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. ( peaceable time ) . So start asking your questions now about data , model , cloud computer science , and what it all means for our future both in space and on Earth aright now !
