Guests staying atDisney World’sPolynesian Village Resortreportedly had to evacuate the property on Tuesday morning.
The resort was briefly closed and guests were not allowed off at the Walt Disney World Monorail’s Polynesian stop, according to the unofficial Disney news blogWalt Disney World News Today. Emergency vehicles such as a fire trucks and ambulances were also spotted in the parking lot from the Monorail.
According to the outlet, guests said they were immediately escorted out of the building when the fire alarm started going off.

The resort’sofficial websitehas a notice posted that says the property is undergoing construction. They are currently building a new Disney Vacation Club tower at the site.
“As we prepare for the proposed expansion at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you will see and hear construction at certain times of day. To minimize disruptions during your stay, activities that may create noise will not start earlier than 9:00 AM,” the website states.

In July 2021, the highly anticipated makeover was unveiled with a brand newMoanatheme. Each room in the resort was designed with the hit 2016 film in mind, including photos of the Disney princess and other characters that adorn the walls.
Fans of the movie may also recognize the wallpaper that features similar designs to the animated tattoos ofDwayne Johnson’s character Maui.
