The EFF has an interesting , if pretty milquetoast call out to programmers and other geeks to help develop the MythTV undertaking , specifically to make it easy to use by the average consumer . Their fright is that the FCC ’s program flag ( a DRM organization that will lock away down your ability , unless permitted by broadcasters , to exercise your reasonable use rights , like copying or timeshifting , on HDTV streams ) will pass into law as scheduled about a year from now . There is a loophole , presently , that allows nonsensitive HDTV devices to be sold and resold , even after the programme flag goes into effect .
