Derek Jeterand his wifeHannah Davis Jeterhad what they call a"very small" wedding back in 2016. But the intimate affair still included a performance from one of music’s biggest supergroups.
The retiredNew York Yankee, 49, and theSports Illustratedcover model, 33, are opening up to PEOPLE about their favorite memories from their “I dos” — like whenBoyz II Mentook the stage to sing some of their biggest hits.
“I mean, Boyz II Men performing at our wedding was pretty good," says Derek, Hannah adding the R&B group is “one of our favorites.”
“That was a highlight,” Derek says.
The pair tied the knot on July 9, 2016 at the Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California. “It was a whole weekend of festivities," Hannah said. “We just danced every night.”
But it was the small guest list is what Derek speculates contributed to the night’s success. “That might have been the thing," says the five time World Series champion.
Hannah agrees. “That’s what I loved about our wedding, was that we didn’t — it wasn’t like a meet and greet," she remembers. “We didn’t have to go around. We just had close, close friends of ours there. [And] we got to have a lot of fun.”

Derek and Hannah celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary in July.
Prior to their nuptials, the couple dated for three years — though they only made their first public appearance in May 2015 at the Met Gala.
Six months later in November 2015, they announced their engagement after Derek referred to Hannah as his “fiancée” in ablog poston his website.
On Jan. 31, 2019, they welcomed their second child, daughterStory Grey. And on De. 2, 2021, they welcomed daughter River Rose.

Most recently, the couple announced their family’s newest addition — and first son —Kaius Green, who was born on May 5, 2023.
Prior to the birth of their son, Derek told PEOPLE on the red carpet of the 25th annual Turn 2 Foundation dinner in 2021 that “my girls are the absolute best.”
“You know, you hear it before you have kids, people will tell you, ‘Oh, wait until you have your own,’ but it really is true," he said.

Earlier this month,the couple opened up to PEOPLEhow different it is to have a son amongst three daughters. “It’s been different for me because I have a younger sister and then we had three girls, while Hannah had a brother. So having a boy is a little different for me,” said Derek. “But he’s been great so far.”
