Eight months after Foxx, 56, experienceda medical emergencyduring the time he was filming the upcomingNetflixaction-comedy in Atlanta, Diaz, 51, is recalling how she felt about some of the “crazy” rumors that swirled at the time.
“I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time,” she said on the latest episode ofMolly Sims’Lipstick on the Rimpodcast. “You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?’ "
“Jamie is, like, the cheerleader for the entire crew. Everybody loves him. We have so much fun on the set with him, and he’s just a professional on every level,” Diaz continued.

Specifically, Diaz said, she heard of rumors that Foxx was “crazy” on set, and “making everything miserable and that I was never gonna make another movie again because of him.”
But, on the contrary, theCharlie’s Angelsstar said she “had a blast” makingBack in Action, the first movie she has filmed in nearly a decade. She praised Foxx: “Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He’s such a special person and he’s so talented, so much fun.”
Diaz added of making the project, “The hiccups that happened throughout production are the natural kinds of things that happen,but nothing got delayedother than, obviously, toward the end. And that’s something that is not my place to speak about,” referencing Foxx’s health scare.
Diaz went on to say how Foxx is “thriving” now, adding, “When I see and hear people trying to take another person down like that … [Jamie is] so classy. He’s like, ‘Nope. Just let them [talk]. ' "
And while she said the Oscar winner assured her, " ‘We know the truth,’ " Diaz added of the false rumors, “Still, it just really made me angry.”

It marks Diaz’s first film since stepping away from acting in 2014 tofocus on familyand start herAvalinewine company.
“@iamjamiefoxx only you could get me back in action! I can’t frickin wait it’s gonna be a blast!” she wrote on Instagram in June 2022 whenher casting was announced.
Foxx recentlycelebrated his 56th birthday, and used the occasion to share his gratitude to family, friends and fans for their support in the wake of his April health scare.
