Batman is one of those characters whose cast has a tendency to let loose a certainpassionin common people . With every cast there ’s criticism . Michael Keatonwas too odd to run Batman . Christian Balewas too skinny . Ben Affleckwas too Ben Affleck , andRobert Pattinsonis apparently too sparkly because over 10 geezerhood afterwards people still ca n’t divorce him from his first bounteous paycheck character .

On television , Batman ’s molding seems a footling less fearsome . Sure , people smoke when Ian Somerhalder showed up on Smallville as agrocery store firebrand Batman , and I bet someone out there is still madDavid Mazouz did n’t morphinto a fully produce Bat - man in the five seasons Gotham pay back . But when the CW puke one of idiot box ’s longest - tenured and good Batmen as the Batman last year , it was met with pleasure — even ifKevin Conroyis known more for being the spokesperson of the Bat than the strong-arm incarnation of the quality .

There ’s just something about this fictitious character in particular that bring out our inner casting director . Everyone has some element of Batman that they passionately feel must be express in the very first moment he appears . He must be clever . Or own dignity . Or perhaps just be capable to quickly flit between ditzy playboy and preternaturally smart detective . For others , it ’s about physique . He must be lithesome like a swimmer — because he spends so much time zoom through the air on grappling hooks — or he has to be built like a brick sign or equal to of shell spines with his bare hands .

Even though such a momentous affair occurred , Batwoman ’s finis , “ O , Mouse ” was n’t focalize on Batman or Bruce Wayne . Instead , Kate Kane ( Ruby Rose ) struggled to work with her father ( Dougray Scott ) to hunt an escaped Arkham inmate and Daddy Kane unearth the most obvious and underused Bat failing in the Word — an tremendous and well lit clear place — to try and charm Batwoman . Meanwhile , her team back in the cave spend all their time seek to figure out how to destroy kryptonite because they ’re convinced that its power to penetrate the Batsuit makes it the Achilles heel of the Bat .

Never mind the fact that Batwoman can still be suffocated , poison , blown up , break up , wrecked , and/or burned . She is , you know , still a human in a really fancy suit of clothes and not an immortal sun god like some other masses with a impuissance to kryptonite . It ’s wild that so much of the sequence is spent on endeavor to ruin the green rock when , by the remainder of the episode , Kate has reminded everyone she actually has to hold on to some forever in font she ever has to put down Supergirl . ( Who want to assure her Supergirl ’s close was all about creating a suit that makes the Maiden of Might resistant to kryptonite ? )

But while everyone else was focused on finding and exploiting Batwoman ’s weaknesses , her babe Alice ( Rachel Skarsten ) was meddlesome saying good-by to her crony Mouse ( Sam Littlefield ) and quietly come up with her own plan to get kryptonite and kill her sister .

Which . Again . I ’m sorry . Alice knows that her sister is Batwoman . She knows where her sister lives . She has interacted with her sister multiple times on this show while Kate is in normal people clothes . It seems to me that it would be unbelievably easy to just , I do n’t know , photograph her in the psyche when she ’s out purchase grocery store ? Or poison a drink she ’s getting with one of her exes ? Or gas her and everyone she care about at her club ? This is not heavy Alice ! You do not need the most valuable mineral in the Arrowverse to down your babe because you know your sister is Batwoman and consequently have very easy access to her when she is not in her courtship .

Regardless , after Mouse tells her he ’s done and wants to hunt by , she murder him with poison . Showing that she does , in fact , know how to defeat people without relying on shiny immature plot of ground MacGuffins stolen from Supergirl !

Then she goes to the currently faceless Hush ( Gabriel Mann ) , the positively least terrifying villain this show has picture … and gives him a new face . Bruce Wayne ’s face , to be exact .

See?! She knows how to kill someone without tracking down kryptonite! It was not hard!

Bruce Wayne is played here by Alphas ’ Warren Christie ( or , to be more expert , Christie is playing Tommy who is playing Bruce ) . Where did Alice get this fount , considering the real Bruce has been miss for years ? Presumably , she made this one from scratch ( a bit of a stretch ! ) or this show will have a wild Face / Off adaptation down the road .
