The B&D courier , design by Okada Noriaki , bills itself as a path for both blind and indifferent citizenry to commune via text message . Though there are several Braille phone product already in the market , Noriaki equipment is much small in sizing and somewhat inexpensive . On one side of the gadget is twelve points that rise and devolve in Louis Braille inscription ; on the other side is a small LCD filmdom and a regular numerical touch pad . Users must connect the B&D messenger to a computer for it to receive and understand texts .
Noriaki lowered the B&D ’s cost by building it ’s chassis out of composition board ( the entire thing can be put together yourself ) , and by running its braille inscription programme off an open source platform . I ’m not altogether certain how this technology help oneself deaf people any more even phones , but it ’s a coolheaded concept for helping out the visually impaired . [ B&D MessengerviaTuvie ]
