K-2SO , the purple security droid that pillar over Diego Luna as Cassian Andor and is played by tonic civilisation favourable appeal Alan Tudyk , was one of the original moving picture ’s most demanding effects . And not because of the actor ; the mechanics of the character ’s comportment plainly need a mountain .
Showrunner Tony Gilroyexplained to thethe Hollywood Reporterthat while he knows fans have been waiting for K-2SO ’s origin tale , it will pay off when the bit finally arrives onseason two ofAndor .
“ [ confine ] K-2SO come from the experience of makingRogue , to be dependable with you , ” Gilroy shared . “ From the very showtime , that was one of the most difficult region of the original conversation — how long I was going to have to delay [ K-2SO ] ? Because what can you do with him ? ”

“ I do n’t need mass to go back and diagramRogue , but just within that movie , there are two or three or four places where we are hiding him — where he has to stay on the ship or ca n’t go somewhere . He ’s a really , really difficult firearm of equipment to carry through a chronicle . The restriction on him are huge . He ’s a very visible , troublesome piece of account gear . So I acknowledge intuitively how long I would have to wait to do it . ”
