Photographer Thierry Legault captured this flick of the International Space Station and the shuttle Atlantis as their orbit direct them in front of the sun — a transportation system that lasted all of a half a endorsement .
Those two speck in the upper rightfield are Atlantis and the ISS . fit in to Discover Magazine ’s Phil Plait :
Atlantis had just start its pitch maneuver , designed to show its belly to the crowd on the ISS so they can inspect it for heat tile damage . That stand for this image was aim shortly before the Orbiter dock with the station , on May 16th . Thierry was in Madrid specifically to get this shot .
