Things do n’t turn out so well for Jon Favreau ’s character Happy Hogan in this somewhat different version of his meeting with an Extremis - powered confederate inIron Man 3 . In fact , the third episode of the Iron Man franchise could have proved disastrous to Happy .
These storyboards , drawn byDaniel Sweetman , are very standardised to the last conniption . But the biggest difference comes with these words in reference to Happy : “ … closes his eyes and dies . ” In this interpretation , he does n’t pass out ; he does n’t appear to die . He die .
It ’s not clear from the storyboards alone how hard a possibility Happy ’s death was , but it look like it was at least considered . If Happy had give-up the ghost , it for certain would have added some heat energy to Tony ’s anti - Mandarin craze .
