30 Rock ’s Apple keynote spoof was dead - on Jobsian . The closet , the attitude , the nod to convergence , and the casual acknowledgment of accomplishment were all sales pitch - perfect . But should n’t we be done imitating Steve Jobs by now ?
Compared toChuck ’s late homage , 30 Rock give-up the ghost for a more actual imitation of Apple keynote , and we have to say , they got the details proper . The casual dropping of their product ’s marketing stats and the visuals especially were skillful touch sensation . But , as much as it anguish us to say this about as leading a show as 30 Rock , are n’t keynote parodies kind of passe at this point ?

Steve Jobs , in all his turtlenecked glory , is doing his respectable to shy away from the spotlight , and his absence seizure from succeeding Apple keynote should designate that the well of parody would start to dry out up . On the other hired man , maybe we ’re not giving 30 Rock enough cite ; after all , Liz Lemon ’s introduction , as elaborate as it was , earn nothing but a curt discharge in response .
And of all the people to do a Jobs notion , 30 Rock could have chosen so much good . Does anyone play a monomanaical executive well than Alec Baldwin ? And has there ever been a more hilariously surreal impressionist than Tracy Morgan ? possibly they ’ll permit Baldwin do Ballmer to make up . [ 30 Rock ]
